A: there's an interesting article in the washington post. they got joshua bell, who is one of the most famous living violinists, to play in a d.c. subway for change and see if anybody noticed how brilliant it was or if people just ignore art in public like that

SO today I voted. The ballad asked if you wanted the 22nd district to vote collectively to bring home the tropes and impeach Bush/Chaney...I said I did but I don't know if it matters. I also received two packages in the mail today! The first was a book from my great aunt by SARK. I saw SARK when she visited here in the past and thought she was interesting but sort of mythical in the way she presented her philisophy for life. Maybe it was ironic that the second package I got was from my mom's church...another group whoes presentation of reality is a little mythical. Anyhow, the package from her chruch was a bunch of junk food-thanks to that Yogos are my new favorite candy/snack. I never even heard of them before this.

So yesturday I raised money for Habait for Humanity by standing out front of the IGA with a pringles can and asking people to donate. I worked the longest shift and totally by accident. It wasn't even that chilly outside yesturday and I wore layers but standing in one place for that long outside is rediculas. I was pretty cold, by the end of it I could no longer feel my fingers and espeicaly my toes. However, it was rasing money for homeless people so that was a good cause. Anyhow, it was so funny, this old military guy comes up and starts telling us, "oh, these people are taking money away from the good people like you and i. The white people. How can you help these immigrants come in and steal our country." He sounded bainwashed. Then this cop came (probably buying donuts right...) and he is walking up to us and I say "hey there trooper, want to donate" and he looks at me and goes "trooper, I don't see any troopers around here. Yea, I would have till you caled me trooper." Then he treatened to take this wooden board and knock me over the head with it (i think he was joking but it was a little much.) and I was just like "ok, if you donate a dollar." Anyhow, then he never donated. Another lady came and she looked nice but she walks up to us and looks down at our sign and says "what are you guys rasing money for?" and we say "Habait for Humanity" and she goes "I DON'T THINK SO!!!" and sheabruptly gives us the cold shoulder and walks away. (like she planned it.)

after visiting the peta website I'm considering going (vegan). Its hard, but I feel like maybe I'm a bad person if I dont. The reason I wouldn't wouldbe because it is so en vouge these days to be vegan. Its tough call, we use so much water just to make meat. Only about 0.08% of the worlds water supply is clean enough for drinking, and 70% of that .08% goes to agriculture. Which of corse goes to feeding cows and other meat and dairy products.

I recently made some vegan cookies. The recipe is pretty simple, low-fat and potentially ok. Instead of butter you use zucchini and two tablespoons veggie oil. Then it calls for
* three cups flour
* a pinch of salt
* dash of mint (I substituted mashed up peppermint candies)
*some coco (I used hot chocolate instead. but I didn't know there would be a difference, there is...so that doesn't work. neither does the candy, ::shrug::)
and THEN!
*you add minimal sugar
for likewise, minimal taste. Ok, well, they aren't terrible but they aren't exactly "cookies" in the traditional sense, they are more like very dense and “bran”. Animal feed comes to mind.

Also, Kyle sent me a scarf from American Appeal. Its great since it has a little tag in the corner that reads

It was wedensday night when kyle was coming back from organ that he had an encounter of the strangest kind. He came face to face with "6 really sloppy punk/metal kids" (?!) ALL of whom were wearing BLACK. Kyle tells the story to me later. He is anxtious and talks...faster then normal.

Kyle...

and i'm always really careful and look around a lot so i don't get mugged
anyways right near the sorority
there are 6 really sloppy punk/metal kids in all black walking around
and when i walk by one of them shouts at me - he tells me to stop looking at them funny

they all circle me!
and they ask me what the hell i think i'm doing
i said i was trying to not get mugged
and the ring-leader was like "good point" and snaps his finger and they all disappeared like fast
anyways it was more dramatic in real life
i was really fucking scared."

Right now I am at work I have been sitting at this computer for nearly five hours with my fellow slave to this drudery, cody. It was a releife to rock out to WPGU and the 80s flash back. We also did get indian food from downstairs. but I don't know if it is worth the catoracs I will obviously have from staring at a computer screen all say long.
oh and this is interesting although it will probably make you throw up. I don't eat mcdonals for obvious reasons but if they were not as obvious already, get this. Some stupid person, stupid because they ate at mcdonals...Found an f*ing BAND AID in their fries. (ewww) Why would you ever eat McDonalds, don't you just know better. I mean your an adult and just any adult a college student. Ok, I guess that still doesn't say much because people suck and mcdonalds sucks. I don't know whos fault this really is. I mean i don't know this supposed innocent bistanders hunger situation. Maybe it was the best opition for them...although, lets be serious, it was probably their own free choice. I guess no one deseverse to have such a horrible thing to happen to them though. ewwwwww!!!

I recently read an article about how the parents of some kid that lived in palatine (my home town)were suing a chemical company because of a chemical used in cough syrup that was responiable for their 22 year old sons death. Appartently this chemical can be used recralationaly and this kid did "OD". So a fair warning to all thoes planning on "tussing" this weekend. Or if your sick, maybe go easy on the cough syrup. I know I didn't and frankly i feel lucky to be alive.
